SUNRUN BUYER GUIDE · 06 QUALITY CONTROL

Factory Inspection & Quality Standards

A clear review path from the agreed specification and incoming materials through production checkpoints, finished-unit inspection and shipment preparation.

Inspection items depend on the selected model, options and destination requirements. Confirm the acceptance criteria, records and any independent inspection arrangement before production.

01 · APPROVED SPECIFICATION

Confirm what will be built

Review the signed model, dimensions, layout, material schedule, doors, windows, insulation, electrical and plumbing selections. Use agreed drawings and order details as the inspection reference.

02 · MATERIAL REVIEW

Match components to the order

Check frame members, panels, finishes, fixtures and other selected components against the approved specification. Record substitutions for approval before use.

03 · PRODUCTION CHECKPOINTS

Inspect during fabrication

Review frame assembly, connections, enclosure, insulation, roofing, openings and interior work at suitable stages. Check concealed work before the next layer is installed.

04 · FINISHED UNIT

Verify function and finishes

Review visible surfaces, doors, windows, fittings and agreed functions. Electrical and plumbing checks follow the confirmed configuration and applicable project requirements.

05 · PACKING READINESS

Prepare for dispatch

Compare the unit and accessories against the packing list. Check protective packaging, labels and handling points, and record final condition with photographs where agreed.

06 · DOCUMENTATION

Keep an inspection trail

Collect agreed inspection notes, test records, available certificates and shipment documents. Confirm which evidence the buyer or appointed inspector receives before release.

Questions to agree before inspection

  • Which drawings, material specifications and options define acceptance?
  • What stages require photographs, measurements or buyer review?
  • Will the buyer or an independent inspection company attend, and when?
  • Which test reports, certificates and shipping records are required for the destination?

Documentation and tests vary by configuration and destination. Request evidence relevant to your order; do not assume a certificate applies to every model or market.
